G-20 Builds Commitment to Financial Inclusion for Women

The Third Billion

At the G-20 Leaders Summit in Mexico, the Leaders Declaration plans to "recognize the need for women and youth to gain access to financial services and financial education," and states that concrete action will be taken to "overcome the barriers hindering women's full economic and social participation," "expand economic opportunities for women," and "advance gender equality in all areas." This is the strongest commitment yet from the G-20 Summit leaders towards ensuring women's full social and economic participation. This piece of news is also an achievement for La Pietra Coalition, which has been petitioning for the G-20 to set new policies for women's economic opportunities.
