Crisis in Somalia: One Woman’s Response
Join Vital Voices for a roundtable discussion and breakfast, featuring Dr. Hawa Abdi.

Her life-saving efforts started in 1983 when she opened a one-room clinic on her family farm in Somalia. As the Somali government collapsed, refugees flocked to her clinic, seeking food and healthcare. Today, she runs a safe haven camp for approximately 90,000 refugees, mostly women and children, who fled the fighting in Mogadishu. With her country in crisis, Dr. Abdi's work is more critical than ever. We hope you will join us to show your support for this remarkable woman leader.
